OUR STORY

In the summer of 2020, we came in contact with ConceptoMed. The purpose was basically to be helpful in finding investors, ConceptoMed was for sale.

Limited knowledge and competence

We had limited expertise in the medical sector and medtech equipment. Even with our limited knowledge, we were curious about what kind of company this was and why the company's shareholders wanted to sell their shares. We had several conversations where we dived deep into the company's history, about products, about the industry and what type of standing the company had then.

World-leading products

We learned that the company had spent over 100MNOK on product development and had developed some absolutely fantastic medtech products. In particular, a one-handed syringe, SteriJack and a completely unique coupling, Thorq stood out.

Lack of sales and distribution

When we delved deeper, we also found out the company did not have a satisfactory result on sales and distribution. Hmm, this was in the middle of our core competence, but not in the medical industry. We studied the industry, contacted professionals and had a very steep learning curve within the subject.

Acquisition of company

We decided to buy the company and add our expertise together with external expertise. Business development Later that year, the company developed an absolutely beautiful idea, a saliva collection device; SalivaPod. This device has become a success and is used by Trondheim Municipality and the Army, among others. There are also some very interesting conversations about global distribution.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

ConceptoMed AS started out in 2012 and is today an ISO 13485 certified medtech company in strong growth serving the global market with innovative product categories and unique proprietary technology.

When the founder of ConceptoMed, MD Christian Mide, performed a joint puncture, with repeated disconnections of the syringe from a fixed needle placed inside a knee, he felt the need for a "break core" to facilitate disconnection, improve aseptic safety and reduce patient pain.

The medical need quickly became a potential product idea, and formed the basis for the Luer-Jack® technology and the establishment of ConceptoMed.

Today, ConceptoMed consists of a strong team of innovative and committed people with strong professional backgrounds and international experience located in Lofoten, Norway (HQ), Oslo, Norway and in Jönköping, Sweden.

ConceptoMed creates smart medtech systems that strengthen healthcare professionals and improve patient care. The company has slogan of “Excellence Through Simplicity!”.

AMBITIONS

ConceptoMed has been developing products for many years now. The Medtech products that have been developed are world-class - they are absolutely top-level products that have a clearly definable value for the healthcare sector, staff, and of course for patients.

We have started exciting activities in ConceptoMed, including second generation saliva collection; SalivaPod Flex and new global sales channels. So we are really looking forward to the future, which is also quite close.
